Overview
This residence is situated at the top of Beverly Mountain overlooking Western LA and downtown area. The site spans across three lots with more than 5 acres of rugged landscape. It is designed with a courtyard concept where the building take full advantage of natural light, panoramic views and cross ventilation.
The parti divides the program into three main structures: the central courtyard building as the main residence, a stand-alone guest house immediately adjacent to the entry ramp, and lastly a numerous amount of landscape with spread lawns, pool and other recreational facilities. Below the main entry court, it also has a basement with more than ten car parks. After completion, the entire house will have over 50,000 square feet of space.

Design Development / Construction Documents
This residence is situated at a hill top of the prestigious neighborhood of Beverly Hill. An extraordinary restraints in planning and building requirements is applied throughout the entire course of design and construction document process. Because of the enormous size of this residence and constrained fire hazard requirements, the entire structure is designed with steel frame with moment connections for lateral supports, as well as fully sprinkled, to achieve required fire rating.
Lead by Project Principal, I was part of the core team responsible for the design and preparation of construction documents in DD and CD phrase. My responsibility is primarily to design and develop all wall sections and details in vertical interfaces, which include the production of all building sections, wall sections, stair details, foundation details, window sills & head details, exterior finishes details. My role and responsibility also expand into coordination between contractor, structural engineer, MEP, and owner representative.
